My water pump won't turn on & I don't get a water pump light on the master control panel. Not sure of the cause.

I took the water pump out of the vehicle and connected it to an independent 12 volt supply source and the pump worked fine .. so its not the pump itself. Also the batteries in the RV appear to be OK.

The pump is connected by a red and black wire .. the red one was traced to the fuse panel (fuse is OK). When I connect the red wire to one of the nearby neutral/common terminals (bar which has a number of white wires connected to it) I get a reading of about 13.5 volts so I assume its working fine. I am unsure what the black wire is .. assume its neutral but my knowledge about electricity is pretty bleak. Not sure how to test the black wire .. tried a continuity check with one of the main neutral bars and got nothing. When I connect the black & red wires I get no voltage.

Perhaps its a switch issue?

I have a three pump switches in the RV .. one in the bathroom .. one in the kitchen master control panel and one in the outside shower which I disconnected a few yrs ago.

The bathroom switch was easy to access and it appears to be working OK? I ran a wire between one of the neutral terminals near the converter to the switch and it registered continuity whenever I pressed down on the switch. I have no clue how to gain access to the switch located on the master control panel (part of the vent cover above the oven) in the kitchen .. not sure whether the entire panel which has a number of switches can be popped out or whether I can pry the individual switch out .. definitely don't want to break the darn thing since I am unsure whether they make a panel for a 92 Jamboree anymore.

I would like to test the switch in the control panel but am unsure how to gain access.

I would appreciate some advice.

Thanks

Kevin

Your trouble shooting procedure is right on so far. My knowledge about the switches is that if it is a rectangle shaped switch, it is snapped into a rectangle shaped hole in the panel. There are two plastic clips on the switch base that click and lock it in place as it is pressed in. This type of switch cannot be pried out or the clips will break off. The clips have to be depressed first from the back and then you will be able to push the switch out towards the front of the panel to test it or replace it.

My guess is that you'll have to remove the stove hood by unscrewing it from below the cabinet to gain access. Some of these screws may be hidden by the snap out filter on the bottom of the hood.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

The pump power comes from a logic module. Your three switches tell the logic module to turn the power to the pump ON/OFF. Don't know much about this module but I will look into it, as I have the same. Trace the wire from the pump back and you should find the module. What is the make and model of your MH?

With 3 switches and a light on the panel you might have a water pump controller module. If this is the case, the switches run to the module, and the module switches the water pump power. If you do in fact have the control module and more than one switch doesn't work, I wouldn't suspect the switches first. Black is often a ground wire in DC systems (but there's no guarantee). With the info you have I'd probably start tracing that black wire, possibly connecting it to a ground to see what happens, but there is a certain amount of risk in doing that. The best thing would be to locate the control module first.

Here is a link to the intellitec switch, this looks like what I have. There should be an inline fuse from the controller to the water pump. Check this first, and check the fuse housing, I've seen the housing crack and fail to hold pressure on the inline fuse.
