Any one have any experience with the lil stanker electric fan? I'M getting an odor from black tank when power fan is used in water closet. My friend used the fan the other day and the black tank odor was drawn in rear of RV. It also cleared out the sites that were next to mine out side. The sink and shower traps have water in them . I also use Chemicals and laundry soap in black tank. Any Suggestions? Or has anyone used the power fan on the vent pipe?

i saw the lil stanker and i decided to make my own with a small computer fan. it seems to draw the odors from the tank constantly and works great, as its always on when we are in it. i would say that the lil stanker is a great addition. also you will always get an odor when the bathroom fan is on and you flush the toilet, its a no-brainer.

RV360 Siphon is great, no moving parts and so effective that the manufacturer eliminated the top selling RV360 in favor of the better performing Siphon! We had the original for years, and recently replaced it with the new Siphon...works as advertised! here

Don't know about these! But...vent pipe filters

You might have to change your holding tank chemicals, I use enzyme type digester. Either that or cut back on the Cabbage,Califlower,Broccoli, Bean and Egg burritos!!!

You still have a black tank? I got rid of mine years ago.

Out of curiosity, may I ask why you replaced the RV360 with the siphon? Was the 360 not doing the job? Does the siphon do it better? We are fat, dumb and happy with the 360 and Happy Camper. We don't use chemicals on a short stay, but after a few days, DW rules it is chemical time.

Yeah. We use Happy Camper now, but have also had good results with another enzyme product, Pure Power. Some day, when we are far, far away from other people, we might run off a couple of buckets from the untreated black tank and do a comparison test.

A $10 "muffin fan" with a cover made out of "3 series stainless" (whatever that is) sold for $45.

I gotta laugh at their "3 series stainless" comment.

Do they mean...

304 stainess (rusts if you burp in it's general direction)?

or do they mean...

316 stainless (isn't phased if you pour sulfuric acid on it)?

Pretty broad and meaningless statement.

Just more ripoff priced RV junk...

Geeez Mouse - a little cynical aren't we??? Yeah, it'a couple of stainless bowls, a muffin fan, a switch on a PC board with barrier strip and a few diodes and a molded housing, and some wire, ty-raps, fish wire, and sealing material... I could have spent 20 dollars in gas going from store to store to buy all the stuff or I could just order the product!!!

To JTCR: I just installed one for the same reason although I have done a lot of other work as well... See THIS THREAD for the text of that article and all the other things I have tried... Below are some pictures of the install... I don't have any actual experience with it yet but I'll let you know how it works after a trip or two...

Les

Works great, easy to install, and you can't hear it on low speed. However... it will need to be lubricated (not a big deal) after a while or it starts making some noise. I installed mine last summer and had to lube it our last trip out (2 weeks ago). I would estimate maybe 30 - 40 days of continuous use.

Yeah, I know. Sorry.

It just seems that every time I see a new gadget for RVing, I see what goes into it and perceive a rational price for it. In reality, it's always double or triple that price just because they stick the two letters "RV" on the label. Same thing in the boating world though.
