The overshadowing problem with that idea is that the nucleus of ideas for gatherings of interest form among people with uniquely like interests that are not primarily social ones. Why would they go to a rally site to see if others sharing their interests on something like the "B" site look there? I didn't even know there was a "rally" forum site. Never gone to it. Can't imagine I would.

Dear Roger,

I agree we need general rules but does it have to be a religion?

Religions tend to be exclusive. My reading leads me to think the people in this forum tend to be pretty inclusive. I think they post rally threads in this forum because they would like to get together with the people who communicate in this forum. Why should they have to exclude people who don't have class B's?

I think religions tend to exclude non-members from their big rally in the sky. Does that mean we have to do the same here?

I have noticed that if you think a thread should be some place else you move it but often it remains in this forum as well. If that is what you mean by making it a "sticky" then I guess it is reasonable. At least it will be available to the followers of this forum.

So far we've attended two RV.net B rallies, one BEE social, and have two more socials planned. We've also attended two mini-B rallies with a half dozen people. The mini rallies were local to Minnesota. The other rallies jived nicely with our schedule where we could combine purposes. The two planned socials in Moab and Louisiana are convenient excuses to get off our duffs and get moving to areas we would like to visit. Rallies are a good reason to get moving, i.e. commitment. You also learn a lot about B life and that is helpful. The friendships are great too. It is nice to be connected out on the road.

Rv.Net has many forums, one being the "Rally" forum, since we are getting more, and more rallies that are open to any type of RV they will need to posted, and ran from the "Rally" forum. It has been decided that all "Rallies" except the "Annual Class B Rally" will need to be in that forum. Members will just have to check the "Rally" forum from time to time to see whats going on there. If someone with a Class B starts a rally, and it is posted in the Rally" forum, I will consider putting a "Sticky" at the top of the page linking to it. If these rallies are open to anyone, then lets make them available to all the members of RV.Net, and the best way to do this is through the "Rally" forum. I'm sorry your religious analogy just doesn't fit here. It seems you would like to exclude everyone who doesn't follow this forum, do you think that's fair.

Is it fair to exclude other RV.net forum members that don't monitor CVC? Yes. Rallies are about community and despite it seems RV.net's disciplined policies a lot of B members have shown a desire to have a community beyond strict discussion of B only topics. I suspect a vast majority only visit the CVC forum and only occasionally peek in another forum. Thus organizing and discussing rallies are really a community building exercise within CVC. That simply will not happen in the Rally forum because most will never see it and it will die or the semi off-topic discussions in the rally threads like discussion of potluck might get diluted by the broader A, C, trailers, etc. community with comments serving no purpose toward getting to know fellow attendees. We have a few former B owners and still interested B owners like Gary and Gene posting comments you object to yet former B owner Handbasket seems to be able to post in the official RV.net rally and even attend with impunity though no one, including you (and me), objects that I am aware of. Is that a lack of consistency? Should the official RV.net organized rally thus also be in the Rally forum? And is it truly any more valid than the Moab and LA rallies since it mostly appeals to now a seemingly select region that was unwilling to give Niobrara a try in an area that was central to more members across the country?

It's not up to me who attends the rallies, I have no control over them. I only tried to keep the "Annual Class B Rally" on track, with suggesting only Class B's be allowed, otherwise it would need to be posted in the "Rally" forum. Maybe it's time to move that one to the "Rally" forum also.

This is a done deal, except for the Class B Rally, so I'm done debating it. I will in the future just move all these Rallies to the "Rally" forum.

Your welcome to complain to the higher ups, and if they agree with you, and tell me to change the policy, I will.

For us, there is something special about our B. We never attended a rally when we had the Class A. Since getting the B in 04, we have attended a PW Rally each year. Moab will be our first non-PW rally and I am looking forward to it with eagerness. Rallys (ies?) have provided us with ideas for travel.

We are retired but still have our volunteer activities and rentals to manage. 350 miles/day is about the max. we like to travel. Given our daily travel limitations and our location in the PNW, going to rally destinations "back east, down south etc" can take a lot of time.

I have no objections to Non-B-ers joining us if they have an interest (I always appreciate Handbasket's contributions) but I will be disappointed if we cannot mention upcoming events on this site. I rarely check out other sites.

Hey guys, rules are rules. If all rally announcements need to move to the Rally forum then so be it. The A's, C's, fivers, tenters and evey one else is required to post their rallies and events there, so we should do it too. We'll all just have to remember to check there from time to time and see what kind of events are being planned.

Thia great forum is provided to all of us free of charge. We shouldn't be questioning the simple requests of the forum moderators.

Who knows, maybe we'll all have an opportunity to make even more new friends by expanding our selecton of forum threads that we read.

Well, I would really like to be able to attend a B rally, and am giving serious thought to the one in Lafayette, though it's a long way to go for me...being in Ontario.

I have attended two other rallies nearby, and they were terrific and I met lots of nice folks! I am truly looking forward to meeting more 'B' folks however, as I really did feel like the odd one out in my little B when MOST others had huge class A's and 5th wheels that were outstanding!

I gather that most people interested in Class B rallies, if not specifically Bs are at least on the 'smaller' end of motorhomes so we share the same issues/dilemmas/advantages etc.

I would enjoy getting to meet like minded folks, who may someday be interested in travelling in a group/caravan somewhere.

So, I as well as 'rvdogmom' would be very disappointed to NOT see the B events posted on this forum.

Rodger, as you say, perhaps the STICKY would resolve the issue for other non Class B annual rallies, and it would still be accessible from within the CVC forum.

PS...sorry, off topic, but can anyone share what the icon is in some signatures with a bee 'dancing' ????
