Is it really that difficult to go into the "Rally" forum when you log on, and check things out there, ya know, see if there's any B rallies, etc. That can't take more the a few minutes. Sorry, but some of you seem a little lazy.

To Davyyd, maybe you should find another forum if your so unhappy with RV.Net. That was one of the most petty posts I have read here in my 6 years.

We decided to go to B5 to meet the people we had "talked to" on this forum. And we're going to Moab to meet some of the western folks also. Due to the time and expense, we may not get to many next year - but that's ok - I now have faces and personalities to go with the many more of the posts I read.

Regarding the posting of Rallies - I think we ought to be able to find something better to argue about. I'm pretty lazy, and almost never check the other forums - but maybe it's time to go explore the wider world.

Thanks Rodger for what you do. My preference would be to keep the Class B Rallies here - but if it isn't too much trouble to have a linkback - that seems like a workable solution to me.

For all who have not looked at the "Rally" forum, please do so. You will see that you can organize any type of rally you want. Once a rally thread is started, all you have to do is "subscribe" to it, and you will always be able to find it in "My Forums" I just don't understand why some are making such a big deal over this, and why they continue to debate something that isn't going to be changed. There is a lot more to RV.Net than this forum, take the time that is being spent on debating this, and use it to explore the whole forum, you may even make some friends outside of "CVC".

The problem is the rallies are not just "Class B" rallies any longer, they have been made open to anyone.
I had to fight from the start to keep the "Annual Class B" rally here in "CVC", so you see these other rallies have become a problem. I would like to continue to keep the "Annual" rally here, but it seems some, or one feels that if the others go, it should go also. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

So is the Moab mini-rally going to be in the Rally forum? Just looked and didn't see it. Or is this policy only applicable to "offical" rallies?

FWIW the only time I looked in the Rally forum was to try to get the B5 mentioned in the Ohio rallies thread - got a snooty reply that it was already there (it wasn't). Haven't been back to the rally forum since.

Nothing will change with the rallies now going on in CVC. This only applies to future rallies. You will find the Moab rally here in CVC.

We have a few former B owners and still interested B owners like Gary and Gene posting comments you object to yet former B owner Handbasket seems to be able to post in the official RV.net rally and even attend with impunity though no one, including you (and me), objects that I am aware of. Is that a lack of consistency?
When Gary and/or Gene is/are engaged to the owner of a Class B motorhome who is one of the organizers of the RV.net Class B Rally and in attendance at the rally this can turn into a valid debate worthy of discussion.

Technically, the function in Lafayette isn't a Rally. It's a Social. One of the big differences being the amount of organization and scheduled functions.

The Social's are pretty informal things. Folks at the Social can pretty much do as they please, with most of the quality time spent around the camp fire, especially at night.

Official Rallys are much more orginazed and planned, and many times financially supported by RV related companies.

This gathering may be worth the travel from such a great distance. So much of this country has been homogenized but this area of Louisiana has hung on to their culture and you'll feel like you've been somewhere and had a new experience. Loose, fun, easy and laid back. Good vacation. And New Orleans is right around the corner. Hope to see you there!

Agreed. This is a very unique part of the USA, very rich in culture. The timing of this get together is also amazing, with Festival Internationale in Lafayette, JazzFest in New Orleans and the Breau Bridge Crawfish Festival all being held close to, or during, the dates of the social.
