We're in Ketchikan now, did Haines to Juneau leg, Juneau to Sitka and Sitka to Ketchikan so far. I was told by someone a year ago that it was cheaper to take the toad on separate and a person at the ferry counter agreed but I don't know how much cheaper.

I hit a couple entry/exits at low tide and everyone, myself included, dragged. The loaders just throw blocks under your tires to get you over the hump or trough. I saw them do this for almost every vehicle in Haines, including cars with low clearance.

If you have ticket reservations you shouldn't get in a situation where one of your two vehicles gets bumped to another ferry. BTW, ferry's now are not full.

Also without the toad it sure is nice to be able to back up and the loading crews like that.
