The topic says it all if everything is clean and dry; What won't Eternabond stick to? I have a front roof seam that was leaking during the rainy season and I used roof patch on it . Temp fix worked but now I have purchased some Eternabond tape and want to do it right. Do I have to strip everything or just clean and put down the tape?

Eternabond will not adhere well to silicone caulk. Clean as much of that off as possible. Overlap what you can't remove and you will be okay.

You're supposed to overlap the caulk anyway, in case an edge deteriorates.
The only other thing Eternabond won't stick to is whatever they make the peel-off liner paper out of.

What we've found won't allow Eternabond to adhere properly has been moisture, silicone caulk/spray, extreme compound curved surfaqces that won't allow enough stretch to prevent wrinkling, and just plain old dirt/crud.
We also like using a $1.99 wallpaper roller to go over the surface to make sure no air bubbles and that the tape actually makes contact with the surface.

I have found the above to be true also. We also use the roller to make sure it is making good contact. I have never had an eternabond fix to leak.

I've always removed the old caulk to the point I have a smooth surface, then clean it up with some mineral spirits or paint thinner and apply it. A roller definately helps, but I've done it with and without one - without one, you'll really wear out your finger tips... trust me. You want to make sure you have about a 2 inch overlap to ensure a good seal.
I use Eternbond Tape on anythign the sticks up thru the roof (vents, skylights) and the end caps, then I Dicor on the sidewalls (when the roof meets the top of the wall) and silicone on the windows and lights (anywhere I need verticle sealant - Dicor doesn't work vertically).

just a thought on dicor not working on vertical surfaces.
Dicor comes in the non self leveling variety (how bout that)
One of the local RV dealers stocks it here.
It works for me.

Don't think I've seen it. Sillicone works just fine and I can get locally just about anywhere.
Thanks for the idea though.

Well the peal off liner is siliconized (so it's silicon)
Murphy's law says there are two lists of things re Eternabond (or anything else for that matter) sticking to
1: The list of things it will stick to
2: The list of things you want it to stick to
And the two lists are exclusive of each other
Eternabond never hired Murphy though so they don't follow his law
