Can any one offer suggestions on improving my MPG? I have about 600 miles on thr truck and am getting about 9 to 10 MPG towing or not. I was hoping for 15 MPG when I was not towing.
Thanks,
dennis

Well I have a 2008 F-350 SRW crew cab with 4.30 gears and the V-10 and am getting 14 mpg empty and 9 mpg towing a mobile suites 36TK3. I drive empty or full at 60 mph. the difference may be 2wd v 4wd or the speed at which you drive.

No change in MPG when towing a 13,800 GVWR fifth wheel compared to the MPG of the truck by itself?

Started driving my f250 v10 at 60 mph or below. Gas mileage increased by 25%.

Keep off the pedal! I can get 13.5-14 empty and 8-8.5 towing. if you want decent mileage you need to drive these things as if there was an egg under the pedal. I drive mine like a grandma and get 11.5 city/hwy non towing. it`s a V-10 towing truck, not a hybrid Civic or Prius!

I agree witht he people who say slow down. I have a tonneau cover and drive like an old man on the hi-way. 60-65 mph and my mileage is around 13-14 mpg.

It may take more miles on the truck to get best mileage. Also you might want to invest in a ScanGauge II (check eBay for best deal). I put one on my V10 and it really helped me adjust to better mileage driving habits.

I have an '08 CC BB 4x4 with 4.30 gears. Empty at 70-75 on the two lanes nets 11-12 mpg. Towing 5er (about 12k) gets me from 4.5 bucking nasty wind to 7 on down hill runs. Average about 6 mpg with trailer. I wouldn't be unhappy with the milage if it pulled as hard as it sucks fuel.

off topic, but not really, would the scan gauge 2 work on a 99 f250 v10?
