My buddy just purchased a used 2004 Bigfoot coach from it's second owner. Very nice coach with low mileage, 13,000. The last owner apparently after a trip from California to Texas and one other trip, did not know or care to dump the black and gray tanks. After undertaking that pleasant job, we were going to dump and sanitize the fresh water tank. We looked in every compartment and crawled under the rig looking for it, all without success. Any of you Bigfoot owners have any idea where the fresh water tank dump valve is on this model? The manual talks of how to sanitize the tank and mentions opening the dump valve, but fails to mention where it is.

Thanks,
Larry

I am wondering...is there a lower cabinet? Like..under a closet or drawers? If so...you are looking for a simple plastic line, poking down, thru the floor with a valve on it. It's at floor level, maybe tucked into a corner.

On my '03 29SL, the fresh water tank is located on the floor of the coach, behind the headboard of the bed, and all the piping (bypass valve, drain valve, etc.) can be accessed by removing the drawers on the driver's side of the bed.

You might want to look under the dinette again. I haven't had occasion to access the drain in my recently purchased used 2005, but I thought I recalled reading somewhere that it was located there in my model (29RQ). There are no tanks under the rear bed in that model.

My little suggestion for pinpointing the whereabouts of that fresh-water drainage would be to crawl underneath & look for a clear plastic tube sticking down from above. Ours happens to be located under the rear dinette seat on the street side. But the 29G is 'a whole different animal' from his double slide unit. Ask your buddy to consider joining us here for more "expert" advice.

In my ’06 29G the pump and drain access is located about 6 feet in back of the driver in the storage compartment. It has 2 small doors for access, 1 for pump, other for drain which takes hours it seems.

Under he seat for the dinette, there is a trap door.

We finally found it! It is located inside the rig, in the bedroom, under the hanging cloths closet. The unit has a winterizing cutoff valve, and about an inch behind that is the fresh water tank drain valve. If you stand on your head in the bedroom and have a good flashlight, long arms and skinny fingers, it is a piece of cake to find and use. I like the coach, seems high in quality, but that drain valve could use some more engineering.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!

Next time try opening your water sigots inside the coach. You may a vaccuum problem that prevents the water from draining correctly.
