I have not had this problem yet but havent ussed the fans that much. I do need a new clip to hold one of mine in place. If anybody knows where I can get a clip let me know please!

We had the same problem with both of our fans last year, so they were replaced under warranty. Now the second set has started the same thing....when on high for several minutes it drops to a low speed. Last weekend it quit altogether, and the light went out too. Looks like it popped the fuse to that 12v plug. I think I will try to get the same "credit" deal that someone else mentioned, as soon as I find a source for the better model.

Is there a brand or model number of the problematic fan/light combos? We are interested in purchasing one, but would like to know which ones to stay away from... thanks.

We never had a problem with the Forest River included one on the Flagstaff popup and no problems so far on the Forest River included two that came with the Roo. We bought one of the other kind from pux store a couple of years ago to have a second one in the popup back then and the clip on it broke the first week. We just used a small self-velcroing strap for the clip area after that on it. If these two ones with the Roo have the fan go out, it will be time to order new ones for me because if I attempted to take it apart and find out what made the fan go out, I'd end up destroying it somehow anyway.

Those are the kind that Forest River included on both our popup and the Roo. They are slightly different than the kind that the pux store was selling when we ordered an extra one a couple of years ago- the light swivels on it and the clip broke right away on it as well. But as we all know, a bad batch of anything can happen on anything at anytime.

Wellll, ours is pretty new but we weren't having any trouble with the fans or the lights (we also got two with our roo23ss) until my niece stuck a straw in one of the fans last weekend. She's banned from being in there now until she's 21 (not really) The lights are too bright for subtle lighting in the bunk but some duct tape over the light area solved that issue fast.

My ROO 233 came with three fan/light units. Two have been replaced already and the third one just started doing the same. If you turn fan on it stops within 60 seconds...Looks like I will be returning to dealer for a third one.

I wonder if this type of 12 V fan is shock sensitive, maybe a thump or drop causes some sort of misalignment. I noticed that the light was not working on our Palomino supplied fan when camping this weekend. The fan then cut our on low after approx. 30 minutes. Perhaps the unit experienced some trauma that caused the bulb filament to break and also caused the fan motor to fail? I have a second fan/light that I bought from a camping supply store and it does not work for long on high. So…I am batting 0.000 in the fan category, both in their first season! I might try a rechargeable fan next.

Regards.
