Has Cape Fair C.O.E.campground opened since the flooding this spring? Has anyone camped at the park this summer? How far is it from Silver Dollar City? What's the best route to get there from Highway 65?
HERES

We were at Cape Fair last weekend - 1/4 of the sites - 11 - 21 are still closed - sites 22 - 36 are first come first servied
Sites 37 and up can still be reserved but are not good areas for big rigs - but do have great smaller sites - we have been going down on Thursday nights and getting a first come first served spot - but it was 110 degrees last weekend! These spots have elecrtric and water. But not all spots take big rigs - we have a 37 foot fifth wheel
The water is down alot but the sites that were underwater have damage to the electric outlets - people do swim at the beach but it is really muddy on the shore
When are you going - we are down about everyother weekend - keep the rv and boat down there all summer and only live an hour away
PM me if you want anymore infor
Missed your other questions - it is 24 miles to Branson by 76 HWY - so around 14 miles to Silver Dollar City - not a bad drive just curvey - Are you coming south from I44? Better ways to get there beside 65 - there are alot of new highways south of Springfield that would be the best way but they do not show up on most of the maps -
You ought to consider Indian Point COE park, it is just about 3 miles south of SDC so you don't have to deal with the traffic. That's where we stay, all the sights are open.

Several of the sights we opened on Bull Shoals down the road from us at Lead Hill COE Park. The water temperature is a bath-like 90.1f.
Not particular refreshing, but beautiful, all the lakes appear to be running around the same temps.
Enjoy your visit to the Ozarks, we sure like it here, and home is Alaska!
