Our dome has been working great, until our last stop. Pushed the button to turn it on to search, and no motor noises at all. We finally gave up and unhooked the coax on the roof to attach it to our portable dish so we'd have TV. Later I tried the tracvision button again, and it started moving. We then reattached the cables to the dome and the motor won't work. After reattaching to the remove dish, the tracvision motors work. I figure that the fact the motor will run only when the cables are disconnected may tell somebody something we can try to fix this. I tried emailing the techs at KVH (tracvision), but they replied telling us to call. We don't get a cell signal where we will be parked so calling the 'pay for support' number probably won't be much help. Wish this company was good to work with like 'Fantastic Vent' or 'Roadmaster'.

When bad `stuff' like that happens to me I keep unplugging everything in sight until it works again. I start with the Receiver and go from there. Not very scientific but it seems to work most of the time.

Make sure the satellite receiver is plugged in and has power to the unit - does not have to be ON but needs the 120v connected for signal to the dishes LNB.
I had a similar thing happen to me one time when I used to take a receiver from home with us in the coach. I forgot to plug the receiver in and my Tracvision L3 did nothing. Boy was I embarrassed after being on the phone with KVH in Rhode Island from my cell for 45 minutes.

When all else fails, give Tracvision a call. They will work you through a number of trouble shooting scenarios, and usually can get it working again. The nice thing about calling too, is that your receiver then gets a file with each problem recorded in it, and what they did to get it working. This has worked for me a couple of times. They are very polite and helpful.

I have had the, in-motion, L2 for little over 4 years. There have been times that it seemed like the antenna wasn't moving, after I fill up fuel or leave a CG. After about 10 minutes of no activity, I turn off the inverter, for about 15 seconds, this seems to reboot the system. When I am at a CG I turn off the antenna, so it wont go into a search mode if we have heavy rains.

Make sure when you turn on the tracvision, that your receiver is "Off".
After you turn on the tracvision, turn on the receiver, and input your zip code, or lat/longetude coordinates.
Worst case, unplug the receiver, and start above procedure.

Hi DC,
You may have expierenced a voltage problem. The unit will go into a lock-out if you have.
Disconnect all power to the antenna and the reciever for 10 min's.
Then follow start up directions to power up the system again. You didn't state which model antenna you have.
