I have a Latitude C800. It was working fine until I was using it and the battery went dead after about 90 min. of use. When I plugged the AC charger in, the charge light came on for a few seconds then began flashing. Left it flash for some time, and apparently was not charging. I checked the Dell website, followed their instructions for resetting, still not charging. They suggested a defective battery. I just recieved a new battery, installed it and the charge light still blinks, just not as fast. Has anyone had similar problems? Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks
The closest I have had is 2 Dells within the past 2 months (both 3 1/2 years old or older) is that 110 power supply connection would not stay on 110, and therefore would not charge the battery. I realize that from what you posted, that probably isn't the problem. But if you determine that is close, I found a person who resodded? the connection for $80. Dell wanted $250 to do it.
My DD has a Acer that is doing the exact same thing and after talking to Acer about the problem they are sending a new charger.
I tried a charger from another computer and it worked fine so I'm sure that is it.
Can you put a volt meter on the charger and see what it is doing?
Places like radio shack have chargers with different voltage settings and also different plugs so they work with just about anything. A lot cheaper if you are not within warranty.
Good luck!

May the roads and skies always be clear, and the firewood nice and dry!!
I've had 2 Dells with that problem. Both times it was the charger. I always have 2 chargers with me now. It only happened when the battery was fully discharged.
I had the same problem with Dell chargers and an Igo charger. The Igo was replaced under warranty, they have very good customer service.
