I have a hard time finding books I like. Some I've liked are: Desert Solitaire, Into thin Air, Walk across America, Travels with Charly. Any ideas?

Lord, grant me the senility to not recognize the people I don't like, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference

I enjoy similar topics. Into thin Air is one of my favorites!
Here a just a few I've enjoyed..
Roughing It by Mark Twain
Nature Noir by Jordon Fisher Smith, a park ranger int the Sierra
Desperate Passage by Ethan Rarick, one of many Donner Party books.
The Mountains of California by John Muir
The World Rushed In by J.S. Holliday, California Gold Rush

That reminds me CEK, I also really liked the one about the Ranger that went missing in the park in CA, but I can't think of the name of it.

Stephen Ambrose is he the one that wrote the book about louis and Clark expedition? If it is I enjoyed it, I passed it on to someone a long time ago, I need to get it back.

Another good one is The Klondike Stampede, by Tappan Adney. My BIL who is lives in Dawsen gave it to me. Supposedly the definative narrative of the Stampede.
