Good outdoor non-fiction?

Spectacular reading (outdoors or not), and yes, the vast majority of it is nonfiction.

The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey by Candice Millard. An excellent read about Theodore Roosevelt's trip down a tributary of the Amazon, before they knew it was a tributary. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The following are some books I really enjoyed:

1. Hey Ranger (by Jim Burnett)
2. Last Chance to See (by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine)
3. Cool Creatures, Hot Planet (by Marty Essen)
4. Crossing Antarctica (by Will Steger and Jon Bowermaster)

All good reads!

I am currently reading Stephen Ambrose's nothing like it in the world. A great read about the building of the transcontinental railroad.
