We will be going to Bar Harbor the second week in September & then stopping in Camden for a few hours on our way to Wells for a night or so. We will be in a 40' class A.

So far people have recommended we stay in Bar Harbor at Mt Desert Narrows, Hadley's Point, or the Bar Harbor Campground.

In the Wells area, so far it sounds like Sea-Vu is the only suggestion

Open to suggestions.

See if yo can get a waterfront at the Moorings in Belfast if you want to take your time going south from BH...the waterfront sites have a really wonderful view....

In BH, we liked the BH Campground. Decent space between sites, lots of trees and the pool was on the water. Mostly though, we liked the close proximity to Acadia and downtown BH.

Cash only and no reservations. The proprietor was quite a character.

We will be up that way again next year and will be staying there.

Bayley's in Saco, Maine which is on route 1 right down the road from Wells has a new "big rig" area. I just got back from a trip to Camden/Rockland, MAine and stayed at Megunticook. You'd be hard pressed to fit your rig on any site there...have a good trip.

Sea-Vu has 3 campsites in Wells. I just spent a week at Sea-Vu West. I had a huge site, excellent maintained facilities. Fairly recently developed, it's not in Google Earth yet!

I've also been at Wells Beach Resort, on US 1. I would recommend that one, as long as you have an open site. The trees there drip some gooey stuff that's a b!t(# to remove!

Wells Beach Resort is much nicer than Sea-Vu....if you like nice sites,go for the premium sites in the 40-47 range....gorgeous all level, lampposts, etc. You won't be sorry!

I would go with Hadley Point and Wells Beach Resort if it were me. Bayley's is nice but it is a distance northeast from Wells. When we are in the Wells area we always drive by to see George Bush.

Wells Beach Resort is nice if you get one of the premium sites, we always stay near the rear of the resort far way from the bath house and the pool areas. Last year we stayed at Narrows Too near Bar Harbour, remodeled campgrounds with more level sites than some of the others.

Our Maine favorites are Bar Harbor KOA, and Camden Hills RV Resort in Rockport. At the KOA try to reserve a waterfront site if you can.
