Here I go again has anyone with a newer Lance come up with a outside cover for that heat source, there doesn't seem to be any place to attach something. The cover from the UK would be to much money I'm almost thinking of taking sewing lesson's and making my own.

We've got the same vent on a 2005 1191. The design makes it difficult to attach anything on the exterior. I would like to know as well. Awhile back I had the misfortune of the handles ripping off in a strong wind letting the clear dome fly open. That did a job on the pleated night shade which was time consumming to replace. Be warned a replacement shade (just the shade) is $260 list and I got it for the "bargain" price of $172 from a dealer. I was told there are new handles in the design stage to be replacing the existing ones that fail. For what the thing costs and the cost of the camper, those should be free replacement.

I have same hatch on my Lance, and have been using a piece of aluminum faced bubble type insulation, similar to that found in windshield sunblockers on the inside of the hatch.I leave the screen open. Product is available at big box stores, about 3/8 inch thick, aluminum faced both sides, flexible.
I put this in place and use a small dowel in the track to support the center, and it catches the edge of the screen track.. The piece is not quite big enough to completely cover the area, on purpose, since I didn't want to trap heat up there. The aluminum reflects heat out pretty well, it makes a big difference.
This has been in place for 3 years, most of the time, including traveling and always during storage here in Florida. I can see no ill effects on anything,

Aluminum foil and bungee cords. Doesn't work when moving.
Good luck and good camping

Well I think the bubblefoil on the inside sounds good,so its off to I would think homedopot or Lowes should have it. I did use it before in the skylight of my last camper but there was no handle in the way. Thanks for the reply

Have you ever noticed how hot it gets on the underside of the dome when the night shade is closed? It makes a great solar oven! I was amazed at the heat generated, it's a wonder it doesn't melt.

Here is a similar question, on my fiver they have a large plastic dome over the shower for extra headroom and light but it lets too much light in and way too much heat.
Rather than putting a shade across on the inside as others have suggested I'd rather just paint the clear plastic dome on the outside, black would make it too dark, any suggestions on a color or type of paint/coating to use?
And is there anything (paint or coating) that could be removed when it came time to sell?

That's what I was thinking too, white would let some light in still keep the temps down.
