In my shop behind the stick house, my main source of entertainment is my CD player. The Stereo receiver is a Kenwood KR-V7070 while the 5 disc changer is a RCA RP8070.
The receiver play's great in FM,AM, and video, however when in the CD mode the CD will play approximately 15-20 seconds then shut down both the CD player and the stereo receiver. Both units are about six years old.
I think a heat sensor might be shutting down the CD player and the power source both. Does any one know where I might get help to possibly fix the CD player my self ? orrrrr bite the bullit and spring for a new CD changer.
(also for what it is worth my spell check says "server error")
Thanks.......

I wouldn't buy a new CD player. I would either buy a used one on EBay for a few dollars or better still, enter the modern world and buy an iPod or equivalent, load all your CD's onto your PC and transfer them to your new ipOd and have your entire CD collection at your finger tips and then plug THAT into your old receiver.

An mp3 player is the way to go, no more handling of CDs.

try putting a small fan blowing on it to cool it down.. sound like it is overheating to me.. I understand the love of technology you understand and want to keep..

Do you have air in the shop? First try cleaning the CD player and receiver. Take off the covers and blow them out with compressed air. If that doesn't work then it may be time for a new one.

If the above suggestions of a fan or blowing out the unit don't work, and you don't want to update to MP3 technology (and I can certainly understand sticking with what works for you), then I agree with going to eBay and looking for another changer. You should probably be able to find something similar to what you have for not too much money.
