3/16ths of a inch, is this less than a 1/4 in or more but less than a 1/2 in or more?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in
a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming---WOW WHAT A
RIDE!!!

one inch is 16/16th
1/2in is 8/16th
1/4in is 4/16th
So, 3/16th is smaller than 1/4in

16/16 = 1
12/16 = 3/4
10/16 = 5/8
8/16 = 1/2
6/16 = 3/8
4/16 = 1/4
2/16 = 1/8

1/4 inch = 4/16 inch, or 8/32 inch, or 16/64 inch, or 25/100 inch
1/2 inch = 8/16 inch e
3/4 inch = 12/16 inch t
1 inch = 16/16 inch c
.

Darn. Jack beat me to it. I type too slow, I guess.

That reminds me of a story a friend of mine told me. He taught carpentry at a vocational school. He asked a student to take a measurement. When the student came back he said it was 17" and three little marks.
