Because of a very close lightning strike, I found myself in the market for a new TV. I actually found this a good thing (Becasuse there was no damage to the RV except for the TV) as it forced me to upgrade to a new flatscreen. I found a good deal on a 26 inch Vizio. It has all sorts of inputs on the back including a RGB PC input. This got me to thinking. Is there any way to wirelessly send my laptops screen to the TV? I know I can do it with a cable but with todays wireless technology, someone must have invented a way to do this?
Btw, We have a surge protector but the strike came up the cable and into the TV. Had I thought it would happen, I would have disconnected the cable...but who knew?

You will need a second computer with a RGB which is connected to the RPG on the TV. The second computer would also need a wifi board. The two computers would be connected via wireless to the same local network.

Or just plug the monitor (tv) into the PC and use a wireless keyboard instead.

You have to have a Transmitter plugged into your laptop and a reciver plugged into the TV to trasmit the signal. Something like this...

Before you spend over $150 on the Smarthome system, go to the review link and read all the reviews. Apparently, there are some unhappy customers with that product.Review Link

I have done some work with X-10 equipment. There are some caveats -
"Signals are transmitted over the high-bandwidth 2.4GHz band". If you do this in your house, be prepared to replace telephones or anything else using 2.4 GHz. They will interfere with one another. Another issue is electrical interference from normal wiring. A third, if you use any other X-10 equipment that works over the wire instead of wirelessly, is potentially that of trying to communicate between two legs of wiring - and both your home and rv will be wired this way. At some point, it hits the junction box between the two, and signals can go haywire. This can all be overcome, but you often have to buy additional equipment to resolve the problem. Great toys, useful devices, but the whole thing can become pretty time-consuming for you.
I would go with a simple wireless keyboard and mouse, and plug the PC directly into the TV monitor if you can. That gets rid of most of the potential problems easily. The only limitation is that of possibly not having your PC monitor conveniently located so you can easily switch when you prefer to have both the TV and the PC operating at the same time. Only you can answer that, based on your own habits. Basically, you can get it all done for under $100 even if you don't have the components on hand.
Good luck!

Some, I stress SOME flat screen Televisions have a computer input connection, all you need is the cable, which is often already in the box.
