No,no...don't cry. Save the tears for the Sad Cowboy Songs around that first campfire when you are back on the trail and celebrating at your campsite next year. (I can hear that harmonica now...)

He Rudie
I just spent the day checking out The State Park at Cowan Lake just south of
Willmington< ohio.
It has been at least 25 plus years since I camped there, Lots of tree lined sites lots of friendly folks and nice clean showers and restrooms.
I just may pull down there next week if I get a chance.
I don't know if you have ever been there but it's a nice-one.
Get well Pete.
PS my 90 something Year old Aunt lives in Houston
as well as her 2 sons.

I'll bring the corkscrew (sorry Ruide, I'll never let it go...), everyone else bring a beverage!
It will be a great get-to-gether!
Keep pluggin... I'll seriously come when you can camp again... name the place.

God Speed the recovery Ruide. I've always enjoyed your posts. Since you can't get out right now, I'd like to invite all to post 1 picture of a recent camp experience so He Ruide can still enjoy the great outdoors. I'll try to post a pic this weekend.
Take care

Sorry, no PUP in this shot, but I really like this picture of the kids. It's from our recent trip to St. Joseph's Peninsula State Park in FL.
There's just something about the ocean, isn't there?

Folks, thanks for the continuing words of support. There has been talk that I need to go on a "Ruide's beating cancer camping tour". Of course my doctors or DW might tell me I can't do that for a year.
Anyway, I do have some specific comments.
Rick, if you are in fact using your incentive spirometer we might want to share progress by PM. I will admit there were days during my last stem cell transplant hospital stay that I would not eat, drink, exercise or mess with the spirometer. Having to share my results might be what the doctor ordered
Hiker3, OK I will save the tears for the sad cowboy songs... although I would welcome a harmonica playing "Cancer Blues"... Oops I should check on the internet and see if someone hasn't already written that song. OH OH. there is one written by Dave Van Ronk called "Talking Cancer Blues". Of course I have no idea who Dave Van Ronk is
Pete, Cowan lake is one of my favorite camp grounds. Here are pictures during the spring and a beautiful fall.
Tarponteaser, I really love the idea of you guys sharing your camping photographs and thanks Larson and Jbeck for yours... I certainly love the ocean/children picture.
On that note since I can't share any camping pictures, I will share some that gives you some idea of what I'm going through.
One of the chemotherapy drugs requires that I tote around a pump and drugs for three days - connected 24 hours per day. Yes you would think it is a Camelbak hydration pack but the red tubes go up into a port in my chest. Here I am ready to leave the hotel... note the other drugs and sharps container on the left.

As I said no camping pictures but here I am with my DGD at an amusement park in Houston.

There is no doubt that she is an inspiration and what keeps me going when things get tough.

Fleetwood Evolution E3 - Yellow (DW let me get a Yellow one since she wanted an E3 with a slide out )
Hummer H2 - Black (DW vetoed the Yellow one, but I got two Yellow Hummer Folding Mountain bikes )

She is most definitely a cutie pie.
If she starts drawing camper mods with her Crayolas, you may have some competition
