Couple of thoughts:

1. Try this in the Tow Vehicle forum - more "exposure".

2. Go to one of the (many) Dodge Diesel forums, such as the
DieselTruckResource dot com - for -lots- more info.

I will check out the dodge forums, I had not thought of that. I'm going to end up helping with this job and was hoping I would find something once its apart that I could show the dealer and try to get some kind of warranty. Maybe a disk that has come apart??? I dont know but in about a week I will be pulling the trans out and I will post back if anyone is interested in what I find.

May the roads and skies always be clear, and the firewood nice and dry!!

Okay something is amiss because 05 Dodge Rams have a 7/70k mile warranty on the drivetrain. The 05 Ram also has a 6 speed manual, not a 5 speed.

I believe the clutch is not covered by that warranty in Dodge Diesel Pick ups, at least they didn't used to be.

I stand corrected. It specifically says that Clutch discs are only covered under the 12/12k warranty and are excluded from all other warrantys.

Glad I got an auto.

Go to http://www.dieseltruckresource.com register and do a search. You should find what you're looking for. If not, then post the question. You'll get your answer

Gee - thought I suggested that back on page one!
But since the above isn't a "link" - here you go -

DTR

Actually there are several Dodge diesel forums*, all good.
IMO, this is number two - behind the TDR, but TDR is a
membership ($) forum with quarterly mag.

*Also:
Diesel Ram dot com
Dodge Talk dot com
Dodge Truck World dot com
Dodge Forum dot com
Cummins forum dot com
Inline diesel dot com
Tow rig dot com

Most of the various "other brand" forums have a section for
exactly that - - the "other brands".

Good luck.

I've been a member at the TDR for a handful of years, Peter annd Southbend Clutch are recommended 9 times out of 10 for replacement clutches.

...and it is really unusual for even the stock clutch to be slipping already, mine's just starting to, I have 112,000 miles, tow heavy and have had a Smarty on my truckfor a couple of years.

$1900 for a clutch job is crazy, our work truck is a 01 dodge with a cummins 5.9L we just replaced the ORIGINAL clutch and the truck has 330,000 miles, so yea if there treated right and no oil getting on them they should last a long time, and we routinely pull 15-25,000 pound trailers behind it, so something is amiss here with that low a mileage, shop around for a better price than that, the shop i work in just did another clutch on a v-10 dodge, i think we charged him around $500 and we bought the parts, were not a repair shop, a farm shop that i work in,
