We just hooked up a Zenith DTT901 digital converter in my MH. I couldn't believe how much better it is. With the help of my son everything works just fine. Between the converter, the old booster & crank up Winegard antenna I'm picking up so many more stations than I could before (here at home) plus crystal clear reception from 80 miles way. I don't need the old remote & now have a program guide thats almost as good as the Dish.

I first bought the Radio Shack Digital Scan model with Pass Thru. I was really impressed except I couldn't program the remote to turn my JVC tv to turn on/off. All else worked tho. I returned to get my 2nd one, but they only had the Zenith DTT901. I bought it anyways. BOY I'm REALLY impressed with this one! The picture is even better and I could program the remote for all functions. I'm gonna just use the Radio Shack one for just the RV.

Uh oh! The naysayers should be along shortly....

It's nice to see that at least some people are able to hook their's up and get good results. Other than it not being able to run 12v out of the box, I really like the Zenith DTT901 unit. Haven't had any problems with either of mine.

I have the Best Buy Insignia, which is identical to the Zenith save for the paint job, (Or so I'm told) Zenith is an LG brand, and well, I've never had an LG anything I was 100% happy with, NEVER. (Though I hear their cell phones are ok)

That said the issue I have with the Insignia converter is minor, I can live with it, and the reception is fantastic.. When, that is, I get a signal

Where I'm at this week.. NO signal

Based on the data I collected the Insignia had all of the same features & was the same price as the Zenith DTT900 but we don't have a Best Buy in Marion so I went to RadioShack to get the Zenith. RadioShack advised that Zenith had upgraded to model DTT901 which added the analog pass through feature. I don't know if the Insignia has done this or not.

dbates -- Maybe a very high hill!
80 mile LOS reception with the old batwing antenna -- sorry, I don't buy it. Probably a repeater somewhere in the area.

I got the Magnovox one. Works most of the time. When set up between Chi/Milwaukee (state line)you can have a signal than loose it all the sudden or it gets pixel or no sound. Sometimes I just go back and watch on anolog. Needs a lot of improvement to me. But most the time we use the satellite.

I just received two TiVex STB-T9's that consumer reorts recommended. I installed one on a 33 year old TV in the kids playroom last night and it worked so well I scrapped my plans of discarding the set, it has not had such good images since it was new in 1975!! and that was on a 20 year old rabbit ears antenna, I am impressed, I got 8 digital channels in all.

I will be installing the other one in the TT soon.
Happy camping!!
