I hope the vet is able to diagnose quickly for you. I hate the high prices of vet care. My girls are worth it, but I always rack up bills quickly with them. Prayers for you both......

We all certainly understand what you are going through with your loved one. I hope today brings good news and that she is better. Keep us posted and we will keep praying.

Well, we both made it through the night - however i'm very scared as her breathing is harder, more erratic and she's not looking good at all. I hate the fact that I have to wait till 11:00 this morning (West coast time) to call for the results.

My gut feeling is telling me that this isn't going to turn out good.

Someone asked how old she is. She's 9 years old and until this week hasn't had a vet visit for being sick - just yearly vaccinations. Indoor cat so nothing outside or getting hit by a car etc is the cause.

Awaiting the news for Samantha, will check later on tonight (eastside here). The antibiotics and steroids may have created a bad reaction, a quick google on Samantha's symptoms and many cats have reaction to the drugs. Understanding the stress you are going through.
Keep up posted.

Called the vet. She's in early liver and kidney failure (probably due to not eating or drinking). They recommended a critical care place in Yorba Linda for fluids and ICU type care thinking her numbers were just under the border and that she'd recover. Called them, ran her down. Within 5 minutes with this very intuitive vet and she felt a tumor. Now...how could 2 vets examine her 4 times and not feel it? She got it in 5 minutes and had x-rays done. Showed it to me. Apparently it's been growing for some time as she said it's pretty big (tangerine size but oblongish). When she got the steroid shot for her swollen lip on Saturday, it lowered her immunity and pushed the effects, which her body was compensating for, to a place where her lungs are now full of fluid, she's in pain and is laboring to even breathe. Literally in 1 1/2 days she went from a vibrant playful cat to where she's in pain and can't hardly breathe.

So today, we will have to say goodbye to our precious kitty.

I ran into a Michaels and got a paw foot print stepping stone kit. i'm going to put her pawprints all over it, write her name and '98-'08. About all I can do. Kids are torn up. These stupid animals - they get into your heart and become part of the family and it's hard to say goodbye.
