A question please...when buying a used late model coach ...what upgrades do you need to do to the TV's systems .I think I have read you need a new type of converter box ? what should you look for when looking at a used coach to see if this has already been done or needs to be done . thank you .

Marc,
TV's manufacturered over the last few years are "digital ready". If you can get the make/model info you should be able to visit the manufacturers website and be sure. Analog TV's will still work if the signal comes from a cable TV source or a satellite source. Only signals received by antenna will be unavailable to older sets without a converter box.

I'm anxious to hear the responses since I've gotten three different answers on my DirecTV set up from DiresTV, A DTV installer and a trusted (but expense) TV repair guy.

I think the easiest approach is to purchase an LCD tv with analog pass through and not worry about a converter. That way, you're covered no matter what.

Go here and they can answer most of your questions DTV.
Direct TV will NOT be affected by the change nor will standard cable. The Feb 2009 change only affects TV signals received over an antenna.

Gees, the mystery lives on.
Starting in February 2009, all United States television stations will broadcast in digital only. Any analog televisions will need a converter box in order to receive the digital signal. If you receive television from cable or satellite, then you do not need the converter box. Newer televisions may already have the digital tuner so a converter box is not needed.

not quite so, lesser power stations can remain analog, at least for a while. I wouldn't let the TV set determine which RV I bought, unless of course they were otherwise identical.
