We have reservations at Myakka next month, does anyone have info about the airboat ride offered there? My wife is not to sure about doing this boat ride? I understand one needs to reserve this trip in advance. Thanks for any contructive replies! Tomm

Not really in advance but on that day when you arrive go directly to the boat area and you can then get a colored plaque which determines which hour your boat leaves. Then you can go and enjoy the rest of the park and return to the boat and have a garenteed seat. You will really enjoy that ride and tour, lots of gators.

I have no idea about this particular park, or their air boats, but I have been on air boats in the past. My advice.....stop by Wallyworld, and get some ear plugs....those air boats are LOUD!!!!
You will enjoy it though...lots of fun!!
Have a great time!

The air boats are HUGE.You sit with about 45 other passengers on bench seats in a covered area.Top speed is only around 10-15 MPH.Lots of birds and gators to photograph.Good park for cycling, miles and miles of pavement and off road riding.Good place to see the real Florida.

I don't remember the boat being loud at all. I do remember that my granddaughter and we counted about 50 alligators and we also saw a family of wild pigs or boars (not sure) on the shore from the boat. It was a lot of fun.

Been there about 4 times. We love the park and totally enjoy the air boat ride. If you are lucky you'll see lots of alligators. We found that the late morning and early afternoon trips had more alligator activity. Never minded the noise. It is a large airboat. The narration is great. You'll enjoy the park and boat ride.

You should also do the tram ride - very informative and entertaining. The tram takes you into the backcountry that most people wouldn't otherwise get to see. A wonderful park with tons of wildlife!

IThe "airboat(s)" (they have 2) at Myaka is large enclosed barge, probably seating 45 as the other poster indicated . It goes at a very leasurely pace and is not loud . It isn't like the typical airboats you see around ( I have one- 0540 Lycoming powered - sets 3) that are small and fast . Take the tour - you will enjoy it !
