So does this mean the windshield will also leak and I should drive like a tank without front window?
I had a big cabover window on mine and in 4 years it never leaked. A windshield and cut in window are two totally different types of glass installation as far as sealing. If you could build the structure behind a cut in like a windshield has they would not leak either.

yeah i was afraid of heat too.
so okay, no front window additions. how about side window additions? we plan on dividing up the garage portion of the RV to be a small office and dog room and i would like a little more air and light aside from the roof vent. are dealer added side windows a big risk for leaks to or do they usual fair a bit better.
also, is adding a side window something within the realm of DIY? i have considerable building and mechanical skills along with a decent array of tools.

can you get a schematic of the wall framing. I have never done it but check out the thread where one fella added windows on the sides of his slideout.

Dusty Agreed! You will feel a cold draft on your face & neck, especially when camping anytime in Canada & Alaska. You'll be sleeping with the blankets over your head.
For our old RV Seen Here, we bought a 1/2" thick foam sleeping pad for back-packing. It was tightly wedged over those 3 windows 100% of the time on every trip. Between the heat, the cold, and the water leaks, we wished we never had those 3 windows. After their first 5 minutes looking out the window, our kids never cared either.
Definitely consider side windows with screens for cross ventilation, but "I Strongly" advise against a front window. You are blessed NOT to have one.

I had a Toyota powered Class C with a front window. It never had a leak problem, but the sunlight coming in really faded the bed clothes up there especially while parked in the yard at home. I still have the sleeping bags with faded stripes on them. New homemade curtains really helped, but then they faded too. Kept that window covered while sleeping up there so didn't need it anyway. Mines a 2001 Coachman with the window and it hasn't leaked yet but the DW has more of an issue with the sun coming in. We've put a heavy duty window shade in it but it still lets in enough light to wake you up as the sun rises.
