Well, I have a chevy silverado. Is that like a GM? So, just for the "just in case" factor, I should unplug it?

this is what we do, everyones diffrent.
pull in as level as possible, leave everything the way it is other then 7way plug. stick the carabeaner thing we hold everything up off the hitch with to the keys as a reminder to plug in the next morning. and place our chocks in the tires. we dont put down any jacks or stablizers. we just crawl into bed and crawl out in the morning.

Lots of times if we're just interested in a few hours sleep we just park and go back to the RV, unlock the door and go to bed. If getting a few hours sleep you're not going to run the TV battery down. On my rig that'd be 3 batteries I'd have to run down in a few hours. I can dry camp for 3 days on the two I have in the rv so I can't possibly see how I'd run down three in a few hours running nothing but a fan and the parasitic loads. YMMV.

Chevy/GMC, yes it is a good idea to unplug. Ford and Dodge use a relay on the charge line that only supplys 12V when the TV is running, GM doesn't.
As to why it is important to unplug, imagine your supprise in the morning after your furnace and fridge draw the TV batteries down to the point it won't start!
