were old time campers and remember the way it used to be but we always look for:

1. pet free campground
2. or a pet free area
3. pet free RV site
4. pet free area
5. were still looking
6. any place thats quiet
7. did I say a dog free campground
8. away from crowds/conventions
9. still looking
7. away from play ground equipment
8. nice relaxing atmosphere
9. away from interstates especially next to the bottom of a hill (cattle haulers with straight stacks with engine brakes}
10. and dog free

as you can see were still looking for the good old days camground when folks went camping to get away from it all.

One thing I do not remember seeing on anyone's list was Wi-Fi availability. When we travel for long periods (more than 1 week), it is essential that we have internet availability. Unfortunately, we have found that many CGs advertise Wi-Fi, only to find out that it is limited coverage or "broken and is to be fixed next week".

There's several problems with this poll -
as 'coptalker' indicated - not all of us have the same preferences.

Do you boondock - or prefer hookups?

Close to "attractions" - or away from it all?

Size of trailer (and/or tow vehicle) can change everything too.

Lastly - do you normally bring enough beer - or require re-supply?

The great thing about RVing is that you can go different places and experience new things and when your done you can move on.
I am proud to say we have only used hook ups a few times as we like to boondock where most of these "NO" rules do not apply.

Happy Camping?

Our #1 priority is to see what ratings a potential RV park is getting in www.RVparkreviews.com. If the reviews aren't good, We don't care what the park offers, it's a no go.

When we go to a really fancy park, we put our pink flamingo's just to annoy the uppity types.

Try Not being 20+ miles away from the nearest store, gas station or bank. That is unless you are just weekending it and carry a weeks supply plus of your needs. One other very important consideration is cell phone coverage. If you can get a good reading on your phone before registering that is helpful. I'm in a fringe area for t-mobile and can only use my phone if I am outside the trailer. Same goes for internet access.
Fishing access is also important. Next year I will find a place with fishing access, the closer the better.

We have a short list...
1- that it's clean
2- it's near a beach
3- full hook up's
4- quiet time means just that

#5, which is the deal breaker, that they are dog friendly.

I have one requirment when it comes to parks or campgrounds.

ENFORCE the rules that you give each one that checks in.
