I'm somewhere around 12'9" or so. I cringe going under anything that is less than 14'. There is a bridge around here marked at 13'8", but it has a grade on one side. You wouldn't catch me going under that bridge with a semi.
When my rig was new to me I almost made it into a convertible. I missed a low bridge sign at night and was part way under the bridge before I realized it was too low. The bridge was shorter in the center so I got part way under it before realizing I was gonna have a problem.
Talking about vehicles height. I've seen lot of multi-level parking lots with "No tall SUV and vans" signs. They usually have chains hanging from the ceiling at the entrance. Most of the times lot of chain links are broken off and next few concrete beams have serious scratches.
