Unloaded the TC yesterday and woke up this AM and realised I forgot to dump the tanks before I started home. Times like this are a kick in the pants to get a macerator set up. Easy access to the house clean out if I could pump it 30 feet. Oh well, just the excuse I need to load it back up and go fishing in a few days. In the meantime I'll be looking for a old garbage disposal that I can make into a stay at home macerator.

Oh, and now for something completely different. I got a LED flash light for my birthday, all TC'ers are interested in good flash lights aren't they. Anyway it is fantastic, it uses three AAA cells and puts out as much of a beam as my 2 cell Mag Light incandesent. It uses a single LED made by a company called CREE and it might be called the CREE system. I have a large tree in my back yard and it lights up the top as good or better as the Mag. It is made by Leather Man and I found it at COSTCO for around $30. I have used it for about 25 hours and it shows no sign of slowing down.

Every once in awhile I feel old and forgetful, too. But I'm wondering whether I'm very much more forgetful than I was when I was younger. Then I get to thinking I've always been a little absent-minded. That's it!

I do think you're right, though, about TCers' love of toys such as flashlights. I, for one, have them stashed all over the place (so I'll have one when I need it if I can remember where it's/they're stashed). I've also got several of those push-lights around the camper that work pretty well. Anyway, I'd feel guilty about buying any more lights, so I guess I'll just have to try to remember about the CREE/Leatherman system. Thanks for the tip.

Happy camping.

I have noticed I sometimes have trouble recalling something that I know that I know.

Regarding flashlights....a guy can never have too many. I also have an number of the LED flashlights and stickups around. Most of the LED lights are useable but not very bright. I did however upgrade my 2-cell Mag-Lite with the 3 watt LED. Amazing how bright it is.

If you like the Mag with a LED you will love this Leather Man light. I agree about head lamps, I have four, two old school that don't get used anymore and two with LED bulbs. I also have a 12 LED lantern that just sips power, is bright, and has a remote. Very useful to have in the TC when the dogs alert at night and I want to see what they are up to. Also trips to the WC.

When I was having lift pump problems on my truck the head lamps sure helped laying under the truck late at night changing a pump. Used the lantern also. One other light that is very useful is a LED spot that has tripod legs. That helped a lot when my buddy broke a axel mount on his fiver and we had to strap it together with nylon straps. They did the job for the 100 mile trip home with a few stops to adjust things, most people would have had to wait a week to get it towed and fixed.

For about $100 the sewer solution would be a solution to your forgotten sewer dump problem. This unit will move the stuff you "moved" something like 60 feet and even up hill 3 feet. We love ours. Never had any problems with it since we purchased it about 4 years ago.

Hi Mike,
Yup, been following your post and it scares me to death. We don't get the rain year round like you do but winter is on it's way so I will be caulked up before then. Who knows it might even rain this year, if it does not and ends up like last winter (low water year) we will all be drinking recycled waste water by the end of next summer and all will be paying huge amounts for produce.

Hmmmmmm........ I seem to have forgotten if I'm forgetful. I can't remember if I was when I was younger. Huh? What? Younger? What was the question??

C.R.S. is a B***H.

Anyway, I found crank up emergency flashlights w/ multiple LED bulbs at Lowes for less than $30. Never need to worry about battery replacement or having a battery fail and corrode everything. Works really well. One model of them even has an AM / FM radio for catching emergency broadcasts. They are suprisingly compact too.
I am really considering getting more of them and doing away with battery style flashlights. Seems like they always die at inconvenient times or have corrosion from just sitting. More than a couple of mini-mags I have had to get rid of because the AAA batterys failed and I cannot get them out of the tube.
The other issue is having them discharge because they get turned on by accident.
If this happens with the windup style, all you have to do is start cranking.
