Who has gotten stuck (or nearly stuck) in a parking lot with your RV? On a recent trip I turned into a parking lot only to see a small sign that said "Small Lot, No RVs, Trucks, or Trailers". Of course by the time I see it, the TT is halfway in. At this point, I can either proceed into the lot and take my chances, or try backing the TT out onto a busy road. Well, I went into the lot and proceeded to turn around. After about 10 minutes of back and forth manuvering, I finally got turned around. For a while I thought I was going to unhook the TT to get the TV turned to a better angle.

That had to be a very small lot or you have a very big TT.

Being 60' long I always try to scope out the lot and make sure there is an easy exit before I go in.
Last year I turned into a Steak and Shake sometime after midnight and found that even though it looked good from the street it was all outlined with curbs! Managed to get around through the lot and back it in across a row of outlying parking spaces. As I walked up to the door a group of young guys were just coming out. One of them said "You really know how to maneuver that thing." I said thanks and he said "we're firemen, we know something about getting big rigs in and out of tight spaces." Made me feel pretty good!

We were coming back from week long vacation last summer and I missed a turn. I knew where I was but missed it anyway! So, I see a bank on corner and it looks as if there is an entrance/exit on both streets. I turn into bank and get about 1/2 way around and see there is a drive-through teller between me and the exit I want to go out. NO, I did not do like the famous youtube video of the 5'er hitting the ATM awning (have y'all seen that video? ). Anyway, I'm already stopped when a lady comes running out bank telling me I can't go out that way. I say "Yes mam, I see that!" So, she stops cars coming in parking lot while DW guides me as I back 90* into 2 empty parking spots and slightly into their grass. This gives me just enough room to clear pulling out the way I came in. The bank lady did ask if I drove a truck for a living.

I sure wouldn't depend on SIGNS to tell me when a place is too small. I just look at it and I can tell if I want to go there or not. Worst that can happen though is you back out. If you can drive it in you can drive it out but might need someone to direct traffic.

I can't say that we've ever been stuck in a parking lot. Some are tight, but we can get through.

Who hasn't???? If you tow long enough you will. You also will go down a dead end road with no turn around, but you will persist.

Didn't take us long to learn...if you can't see the way out, don't go in! I have gotten out and checked on foot while DH either waited or drove around the block. (So far, he's always come back for me! )

I took a wrong turn once as well and ended up at a dead end and almost took me 30 minutes to turn around and get back out!
I have also learned that when a place advertises that they are "RV friendly," that ain't always the case. They don't always have enough space for RV's to turn or move around.

Did the same thing pulling our 23' boat. Problem was, couldn't turn around so had to back the way I came in.....that was fun
