Nobody ever mentions that Alaska is served by 6 refineries and is basically self sufficient when it comes to vehicle & aviation fuels, so there is no large shipping charges. Here is a list of the refineries and their output.

Just read an article on www.azcentral.com that Mexico is getting upset with (and starting to fine) Americans because people are driving down there to get diesel where it is $2.25 per gallon.
