On either the '02 Roadtrek 190 or the Tiger, the drone and hum of the Onan running a 1500W heater has been preferable to the intermittent racket of the LP furnace. This was after I added some 'quietening' measures to the Onans, tho'. On the Tiger, the Onan's compartment is right under the couch/bed; even so, it's less disturbing than the sudden blast of noise from the furnace.
Doesn't work for campgrounds, but I'll keep using that combo when overnighting in parking lots and truck sto...errr, 'travel plazas' .

We find that an electrically heated bed (not a heating blanket) with a comforter works fine down to about freezing outside - and it will run all night on batteries. We turn the furnace on for about 20 minutes before getting up to warm the coach.
Well... since I started this whole thing, its running around 100 degrees here in south Texas, but winter will arrive. I'd like to make this change BEFORE cold weather, not during...

I ordered some sound dampening material but probably won't be able to get the furnace to turn on to test it. The 100 degree heat just keeps on coming. It's a dry heat, then so is fire. I can't wait to retire.
