I thought I had my mind set on this. The Honda 3000 will run my AC, one engine to maintain and according to Honda is even more quiet than a 1000!! The only way I have to haul it is in my enclosed trailer.

Now if I had twins I could also haul them in the boat or even just the TC. So now I am leaning more toward twins even though it will cost $400 more with the wiring harness.

So I guess my question is for you guys with twins. I know it will be twice the maintenance. How about noise? Are twins twice as noisy as one? Are they a pain to maintain? A hassle to hook them together each time? Thanks......DJ

PS What happened to spell check? Now everyone is going to know I can't spell!!

I don't know about your generator question but he spell checker is having problems with the Woodalls portal and the RV.net portal. You can use the any other of the six portals and find it works mostbestest. Bill

We have the twins. I need both of them to run my A/C. Most of the time I am using just one. As far as the noise goes, I always have mine on eco position. They are very quiet. We went with the 2000 watt generators in favor of the 3000 watt generator because of the weight factor. Good luck with your decision.

I don't have twins as of yet, but would prefer that over a single machine. I would like to be able to leave one running on the TC and have the other for work around the boat. I do also have a large fiver that I could use the twins on.

My brother has the 3000 watt unit and moving it around is not the easiest thing to do.
I have twin 2000's. I built my own dual connector setup.
There are times when I need both to do whats required but most of the time one will do the job.
They are relativly light and can be moved from place to place without much straining. They are quiet and don't break the bank on fuel.

I'd switch out your A/C to a smaller BTU or a high efficient unit and go with one 2000. Its cheaper than getting the twin 2000's  or the 3000, and its much easier lifting, moving and storing a 2000 vs the 3000. Ive ran a 13.5K BTU high efficient Brisk Air (draws 10 amps)on my EU2000 for 4 years now without any problems.

I had a 3000 and sold it because of the weight issue. I travel alone most of the time and always had to find help getting it in and out of the burb when needed. I will be getting two 2000. Like was stated before I can use one most of the time, would only need two to run A/C.

I do not have twins, but I would do twins before a 3000.

I agree with Greg B., an new A/C is about $500, and will not need added storage or add weight to your truck or trailer. A second 2000 with the wiring harness will cost about $1300, add about 65 pounds, and needs additional storage. There is very little maintenance, but it will double. You also have to load and unload two times with twins. Unless there is some reason other than A/C, I would not do twins.

I have two EU 2000 which do a good job but I came across a deal on a EU3000
dirt cheap and only used a couple times for less money than one EU2000 cost.
Now I prefer the EU3000 as it has elect start etc. I keep it in the rear of my TV on a sliding tray. I also bought a platform jack to raise it up to the height of the TV bed. I will probably sell one of the EU2000 as I don't need 3 genn

I also chose to buy two of the 2000's over the 3000. The 3000 would not run my A/C and the microwave at the same time. The 2000's in parallel will run everything. The only time I use the second 2000 is when I need the A/C. I also can handle the weight better than the 3000. I use a single 2000 for many things other than the RV and it is much easier to move around. They are very quiet but I can't compare to a 3000 as I have never heard one running.
