for all that think staying at Walmart is not a good thing, they will be happy shortly. More and more the truckers are taking over the Walmart lots. The problem is truckers are very heavy and they kill the lots leaving holes that will consume a motorhome and oil spots the size of Rhode Island. so the time for "Walmart stop-overs" will be coming to a hault. To bad the campground industry does not have a system for, dry camping, stop over areas. Nothing fancy and right off the interstates, maybe in connection with rest areas. I guess that would involve doing work with the states (forget that)

There is always someone that will cause a good thing to end! I don't use Walmart often, but it was sure nice to have it available if needed.

Yep, it's them darn truckers again.
Just who do you think that should support the FREE CAMP SITES you want. Maybe you could go around to the local business for donations.Or maybe the folks that use them mighyt support them. Oh that's right they want a free ride.

I don't have anything against truckers, they do keep our country moving however they do not like it when we go into "truck stops" even to fuel up. I have had times when I went in for coffee and the trucker next to us came so close I thought my steps would hit his rig.
What the *#%!.

Can Wal-Mart not put a stop to truckers staying there overnight? After all, Wal-Mart allows RVs to stay overnight in hopes of getting their business in terms of groceries, supplies, etc, correct? I can't really see truckers spending that much money at the Wal-Mart they're staying at compared to the average RV owner.

I think the thing to do is everyone write Walmart and let them know their feelings. Maybe they will post signs warning truckers that they do no accomodate truckers. Ask them to let the the camping community to continue to utilize the lots for overnights.

I don't know, I see a lot of Walmart Trucks parked in there lots.

Fuel for thought:

But what's heavier, a 30,000 lbs + DP on six Wheels or and 80,000 lbs on 16 Wheels ? Which one do you think will leave a lasting impression.

The 18-wheeler definitely will leave more of an impression. I know first hand. Our business is sometimes used as a cut-through to the MH repair shop right next to us. Never a problem with even the biggest MH, but when a truck with tandem dual wheels makes a tight turn, our asphalt gets torn up. Been watching it happen for the past 6 years. We now have an 'agreement' with the owner of the repair shop.

How about posting some pictures of all these infractions and damage? Why is it that people, like the OP, feel so stongly about this yet they never take a picture. Besides, I'm sure Walmart knows how to run their business, and I do not believe truckers are going to ruin it for us.
