for all that think staying at Walmart is not a good thing, they will be happy shortly. More and more the truckers are taking over the Walmart lots. The problem is truckers are very heavy and they kill the lots leaving holes that will consume a motorhome and oil spots the size of Rhode Island. so the time for "Walmart stop-overs" will be coming to a hault. To bad the campground industry does not have a system for, dry camping, stop over areas. Nothing fancy and right off the interstates, maybe in connection with rest areas. I guess that would involve doing work with the states (forget that)

Not all deliveries to Walmart are with just their trucks. The Walmart here receives deliveries from a number of truck carriers. Some stay in the lot overnight even though it is one of those no overnight parking but I doubt that the no-parking ordinance could be applied to someone making a delivery as it would be considered store business.

some Walmarts have installed a gate that allows cars to pass but if you are over 11 feet or so high you cannot go in. that is how some handle it. as for what trucks are parked there, I have seen times there are 10 or 15 in one lot. I don't think they are all Walmart trucks. I don't think very many trucks deliver to Walmart if they are not Walmart trucks. they may deliver to the main terminal but not to each store for the most part.

Now that WM will only be receiving goods by rail it will be easy for them to reduce the drives to only handle cars and band all trucks.

.... I think Walmart should start up a club for those RVers that just love to overnight there. They should have an annual fee for a permit to overnight. The fee would help fill in the holes... Sorry folks, I think the trucks have more reason to overnight there then RV's JMHO. Besides, those trucks are delivering my food, clothes and supplies.

Don't like the view?? Then change it and Go Camping

The new Wal Marts in this part of the country have put in parking spaces for big trucks and they stay full almost 24 hrs a day. The few that do not allow trucks have a 12' 6" barrier across the drive that a trailer can not get under. I think that is because of the type soil under the asphalt that will not support the heavier weights. I have seen a few flat beds in those lots but they were empty.

Where did Trickto322 get this info. Is this the rumor mill running or has there been official word put out from Wal-Mart?
