My wife and I are going to the four corners area this September for the first time and hope to see some of the surrounding parks. Is there a favorte RV park for those who go there?
It really depends what type of camping you do. For a semi boondocker, there is no place more awesome, than Dead Horse State Park, on the way to Canyonlands NP. We have dogs that stay in the RV, so we look for a FHU site and our preference is Moab Rim .There are many choices, with many of them closer, but for the price as a PA park, we like Moab Rim and will be there in October for 10 days.

We stay at the Canyonlands Campground downtown because it's close to things (McDonalds, etc), and we actually like the higher "noise level" so other guests aren't as likely to notice our kids (who are not noisy, but we don't stress out over them).

Per the PA website, Moab Rim does not offer a discount in the month of October.
Do you find this to be true????

"P.A. discount is on a space available basis. No advanced reservations during April or May. P.A. discount is not valid on Friday or Saturday nights or during holidays and Moab special events. However, there are no restrictions with the P.A. discount during July, August, or November. Cash or checks only. Pets allowed. *Rates are for two people, $5.00 for each additional person. Rates do not include tax. $2.00 additional charge for 50 amp."

We were at Moab Rim twice last year. They weren't busy, so gave us PA rate for full week each time. In Oct, their normal restrictions would apply (no Fri or Sat), but they will make an exception if they are not busy.

The only parts of the restrictions we have found enforced there, on a consistent basis are the no CC and the $2 for 50A. All others may or may not be enforced, depending on business, including the Fri/Sat restriction. We go there knowing about these restrictions and when they waive one or more, we're happy. We just like the location and the riding out the park on our ATV.
Agree with the choice of Dead Horse State Park. It cannot be beat. Been there twice and hope to go back again. They have fantastic trails and views that Canyonland only can hope for. That is not to say that we didn't enjoy Canyonland and Arches National Parks; they are great to visit. But for a home base Dead Horse State Park cannot be beat! And it is only a couple of miles from Canyonland. Enjoy!

This question comes up quite often. The answers are quite naturally very subjective as each CG has upsides and downsides. I only bring this up because there are so many options in Moab. If you go to rvparkreviews.com you will find eleven CGs reviewed....and everyone who has been there has a favorite, not necessarily the same favorite. For instance:
Dead Horse Point is indeed quite spectacular. However, it is a long way from town if you like town things...and it has no water..you'll have to bring your own.
Suggest you go to the "reviews" site above and narrow down your choices, then come back and ask more specific questions....happy to help if we can.
