I haven't done it yet, but am getting a lot of positive feedback for starting a pool exercise group for 1/2 hour twice a week. Just some appropriate music at the pool and some easy water exercises I found on the internet.
I also have some Resort funds for a BYOB wine and cheese social at the club house patio.
In that same style, I am doing an Octoberfest night each Saturday in October with decorations, Brats, German Potato Salad and Saurkraut (my husband and I cook the brats, hot potato salad and kraut). The Resort funds the food, and everyone brings their own choice of drinks. German music. Maybe some costumes, if I can find them.
Earlier in the summer, there was a Luau at the pool - with decorations, BBQ shrimp and chicken-ka-bobs, Hawaiian rice, fresh pineapple, etc. Hawaiian music.
We also have a Native American story-teller/musician once a month. Everyone loves that one.
Here in our town at the senior center they are having a Wii bowling tournaments. Where they go from center to center having tournaments.
Very,Very,Very good activity gets the heart rate up.
