First time traveling to Arizona and need help finding good RV Parks would be appreceated.
Any help on where anybody stayed in the months of November to April.
Looking for warm places like Mesa, Quartsite, Lake Havasu, Bullhead City or anywhere else in that area. Its just my wife and I and a new 30 ft 5th wheel. Don't know the area or the parks looking for quiet,wi-fi and cable t.v. with 30 amp hook up. Would like to stay in Mesa or around there for 4 months then move to Brenda or Quartsite area for a month then move up close to Vegas for the last month. We are retired but not 55+ yet (50yrs old) we have heard stories that the 55+ parks are very picky and require i.d to get in. Don't know if it is true but we are coming all the way from Ontario Canada and don't want to be stuck in a dumpy or overcrowded noisy park. We don't mind kids but we are not looking for a "party style" park. We just want park and relax and sight-see the state. We have also encountered probems getting an estimate on hydro costs. Any help on that topic? Thanks D&L
We had been staying at Shangi La RV Resort in the foothills, just east of downtown Yuma. About 20% or 30% of the guests are from Canada, so you'll be in good company. It's not nosy or dumpy, but they don't allow kids except for overnighters. We've never had a problem with noise or too many kids. They just raised their rates to $400 a month, but electric (hydro) adds about $50 more to your bill. Water and TV cable are included. They have a pool.
This park is typical of most in the area, with some being a little more crowded and cheaper, and a few being a little more expensive.
We're staying at a private lot this upcoming season since it will be quite a bit cheaper, but I wouldn't recommend anyone doing that their first time down there.
You'll love it. Enjoy. JMHO

Go to www.rvparkreviews.com. You have to "read between the lines" with some of the posts but you'll get a good idea as to what the various campgrounds have to offer.

We have spent 2 winters in Arizona. The first one in Huachuca City ( south of Benson) Absolutely loved the park. Tombstone Territories but high elevation and very cold at nights.
Last year we spent the winter in both Mesa and Apache Junction. The park we stayed at in Mesa was actually a mobile home park but we got 1/2 off a monthly rate and my husband was having surgery in Scottsdale so for convenience we stayed there for January. Moved out to Apache Junction for the remaining time and liked that a whole lot better. Stayed at The Arizonian Travel Trailer resort. It is a very nice Park at the bottom of Superstition Mountains with wonderful views but it is also right on Hwy 60 and the traffic noise is very noticable. For some they just got use to it but for me it was hard to ignore sometimes (Light sleeper).
If I was to suggest a don't miss sight seeing experience I would highly recommend Hwy 88 from Goldfield, Az. just east of Apache Junction at Superstition Mountains to The Roosevelt Dam. It was one of the most georgeous places I have ever been. It is about a 40 mile journey through some of the most breath taking views. We took over 300 pictures.
I am 49 and my husband is 44 and contrary to what a lot of people will tell you, (most being 55 or over and have not ever experienced the situation first hand but like to give their opinion about things that they don't have a clue about), we had a lot of problem with not being 55. I am not saying that all parks will not let you stay but we probably checked out 15 to 20 parks and we had about a 60/40 experience with 60% in that particular area requiring one of you to be 55. You just have to move on untill you find one. They are out there. Maybe with fuel prices being what they are they will not be as apt to turn people away now???? Good Luck.
Try this place. It is just what you are looking for - unless you want a pool and hottub, they don't have those.

I joined Campclub USA and found the Tiffany RV park in Mesa that only charges $13 a night for Campclub members. Membership is only $40 a year, you can get the membership at CampingWorld.com It is near Val Vista and Main St. only about 3 miles north of Gilbert AZ.
The owner patrols the RV park that is small enough that you can get to know all 24 or so of the neighbors. There is grass for the dogs, small clubhouse with laundry machines.
Reasonable monthy rates that includes electric!

Money can't buy happiness but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche or Country Coach!
You should check out the Maricopa County Regional Parks. Granted, you can't stay in one spot for 4 months, but the parks are beautiful, sites are big, 30 & 50 amp service, water at site. Central dump station. Lots of hiking and biking trails. We prefer McDowell Mtn Regional Park, but all the parks with campgrounds are nice. Usery Mtn Regional Park is the one nearest Mesa.
We spent a month in AZ last winter, Tombstone, Florence, Quartzite and Apatche Jct. There are places to stay that are not even on the map.
My advice is to do as we did and just go there for a month or a winter and check it out. The areas around the larger cities, like Mesa or Apatche Jct. are nice parks but they didn't allow much room for their lots. The more remote areas like Tombstone, Florence and Quartzite had twice the size lots.
