We looked at the Rockwood 2306 (GVWR 4,677 LBS), but ended up with our Jayco Jayfeather 218 (GVWR 4,500 LBS) because it had both a dinette and a couch. The Jayco is available with a bunk over the queen bed, otherwise, you'd have to make up the couch every night.

These are two excellent recommendations.

Wow! Thanks for the replies. I have a feeling I'm going to love it on this forum.

I did the calc. to find out what we should pull without worry... we are rated to tow 6400, not including cab, tongue, hitch, and whatever other numbers to subtract from that number. So, we came up with a safe 5000 lbs. Dealer said that would be a good number to go with and not to exceed 5400 at the most. *mind you, that 400 pounds makes some choices a bit better

I figured it would be slim pickin's too... but, this is our first TT for the family (moving up from the tent!). We're big on camping and exploring, so I know this will be the first of many TV's and TT's in our future.

My brother is big into it too - goes to Mexico every year and lands on beaches for 5 - 6 months with his two dogs. Lucky duck.

I'm not really wanting to make up a bed every night... I think that the bunks are the best solution with our toddler and she can use them with friends in the next few years. After that, I'm sure we'll be upgrading both the TV and TT.

Thanks again... I'm off to research some of those models. I really look forward to being a member here. It's very welcoming.

Jenn.
