Has anyone ever changed a bulb in the Harbor Frieght Magnetic Tow lights before. I love the lights they have lasted a long time but one has burned out (not the wiring)and I can not figuare out how to get to the bulb. I removed the four screws that held the magnetic base on and that was not it. It appears to be a totally sealed unit. This is starting to drive me nuts, anyone ever change one before?

Thanks,

Glenn

I've seen sealed lights before on other equipment. Probably have to replace the whole fixture.

Not sure on Yours but on Mine you pry the Lens Off! There is a small "Coin Slot" that gives a starting point.

If they're inexpensive lights, they're probably sealed. Many trailer lights are like that. The lights on my Haulmark enclosed cargo trailer are like that. You just remove the entire assembly from the rubber grommet holding it in, and replace with a new unit. It wasn't until I spent some time destroying one of the light assembies trying to replace the bulb, that someone clued me in that they were sealed and to just replace the entire unit. This may be a similar case with regard to your lights.

I have sealed lamps on my Rv. Replacement of the unit(s) runs between $4-$7 ea. depending on which unit. I must say it is one stupid design.

Had a set of tow lights from HF, and that's the way they were.
