Jayco flat out sucks, they slap together TT's built out of the lowest quality materials and push'em out the door as fast as they can. Our 08 Jayco does nothing but fall apart and break. I am ALWAYS fixing something.

SURE I could take it to the dealer to have the many many many problems taken care of BUT we camp every weekend during the summer months and don't want to wait "2 or 3 weeks".

you all say jayco stands behind their products... HA! HEY JAYCO, IF YOU ARE READING THIS COME BUY BACK THIS JAYCO PIECE OF******SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY!

You are far too passive. You need to become a little more assertive and express yourself.

Wow. This is really discouraging to read. We're shopping for a new TT right now, and had it narrowed down to a Jayco and a Skyline. I've gotten horrible reviews on both from people who have bought new ones in the last year or so. It's making me think we just stick with hotels.

We have a 2007 and have had nothing wrong with ours. We have camped and traveled well over 6000 miles in the 1 1/2 years we've had it.

I think the key is to look over the unit really good before dealing on it. MANY things can be caught and fixed or caught and you saved yourself a lemon. Keep in mind that appliances like refrigerators, stoves, ovens and micro's "don't count" against the brand as all the manufact. use the same brands in all their trailers so that the bad things with those items shouldn't be traced to the people that make the trailer but to those that make that appliance.

Also keep in mind that all brands will have a lemon. However if you have a smaller company that makes 100 trailers a month and 50 of them are lemons - their lemon rate is 50%. Another maker who makes 2000 a month has 50 lemons the percentage of lemons is much less and makes less of a dent in the overall quality of the manufacturer.

You will ALWAYS hear when it's bad - very rarely hear people who have no problems whatsoever. Those with issues will speak a lot louder. Jayco is one of the top selling brands and they sell thousands of trailers. On these boards there are 10 people who have problems with them I think? That's a pretty low percentage of problems to # of trailers sold overall. Now, i'm not denying the fact that Jayco has some lemons out there as does Skyline but with the years in business and amount of trailers made and sold over those years, the lemon percentage is still pretty small.

You can get a lemon in anything you buy, however if a TT makes it to the dealer with more then 2 or 3 things then the quality person needs a new pair of glasses. No mater how or what it is. IMO

I am always flabbergasted when I read these posts.

I have had every type of RV through the years. Manufactured by many companies. NONE OF THEM has been anywhere near Jayco in quality. My 5er cost a little over $25,000. I has 39 doors and drawers. Every one made with clear oak. You can't even buy that kind of wood where I live. I got high quality brakes, axles, tires, etc., etc., etc. No where else can you get so much for your money. I paid $60,000 just to get my kitchen re-done in my house.

I have said in other posts, "Jayco should nominate my QC person for sainthood".

I am a perfectionist. I go over everything with a fine tooth comb. THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY RV!!!!!

KSD- Research the trailer and the dealer. If you buy the last trailer that a dealer has that is going out of business, can you expect a perfect trailer?

Ed

Perysburg- It's not my fault you bought a Dodge and a Keystone.

Indeed you are lucky and the QC person should be nominated. This type of varying opinion is standard in this industry. My 3 Jayco's were nothing spectacular in QC but the customer service was fantastic.

After seeing a few newer Eagle's Superlite model's (5th wheels)I can say I am less then impressed with some of the QC I saw, IMHO.

Pretty interesting read... opinion coming from someone who is just getting involved with Jayco over a trailer with a sagging rear end. Look at my posts on the hybrid section.

We looked at trailers for years, and would never consider Jayco. Then, on a whim, we stopped at a dealer just to see what they sold. It was Jayco. We couldn't believe their quality over the junk we thought was "quality". Jayco certainly changed their products since we last looked in the late 90's.

Now, since we bought the trailer, there are a few "cosmetic issues" that don't mean squat, and yes, maybe we are lucky. However, we, well, I am, a perfectionists, and for the money, we really find our Jayco to be very nice. We just wish a few glaring butchered caulk jobs weren't staring us in the face and those froends we proudly show-off our trailer to on the weekends... it's kind of embarrassing.

Unfortunately, we now have the sag issue, and have had a few leakes. I think they are all QC related, too, but I am putting a lot of faith in my dealer. I spent about 30 minutes with the owner today, and have decided that Jayco will have their opportunity to make ours right. If they don't for some reason, well, then we'll decide what to do. I really think a lot boils down to your selling dealer. If they aren't in your corner when it comes to any issues - warranty or after warranty, you might as well wish in one hand and squeeze.

You seem a little grumpy there RETIREDHSTEACHER. I'm a current MS teacher who had to back to work toady. You know how it goes, those silly meetings we attend every year before the kids come back. And they say the same same thing every year.

Sure, the new teachers may get something out of it, but we veterans would be good with just a memo. But, no! Let's read through the entire employee handbook... AGAIN...I've only done this every August for the last decade. Sheesh...oh well. So, I'm the one who gets to be grumpy, not you. You get to go fishing...

BTW, my dad just retired from teaching HS Science. He couldn't be happier!

As to the OP's complaint: What are ya gonna do? Let the other guy fix it and let it go at that.
