Hi there, we're heading out on Monday towards Barstow on our way to the Grand Canyon.

We're staying at friends so we'll have full tanks and I'd like to dump before we head too far with all that extra weight.

We're actually in San Mateo off CA-1, but making our way towards I-5 South towards Barstow.

Can someone recommend a place to dump? Small fee is okay.

Thanks.

K

The rest stop at Westley has a free dump station. It's on I5 just south of the San Joaquin county line...should be right on your way.

The McDonalds at Santa Nella has a free dumb behind it's outside bathrooms by the truck parking. It is just off the 5. If you are going over Pacheco Pass it's just a short drive. Take the 33 nrth to Santa Nella and you can catch the freeway right there.

Thanks. I started there, but it was fairly limited. The suggestions here appear to be way more helpful. Thanks!

When I come back home to San Jose over Pacheco Pass, I dump at Casa de Fruita, near the 152/156 interchange.

It ain't free. I think it costs 5 bucks. If you take 152 from 101 to I5 you will drive right past it. Very convienient.

I think we have a winner! ;-> This is right on my route, and $5 is a gallon of gas, so I think this will work. thanks!

The www.sanidumps.com web site has the largest listing of dump locations on the internet (12,000+).

Here's a link to the Califorina page with over 900 locations for dumping your tanks.

You may also want to look at the map of dump locations form on each state page.
