I have a couple of can's of canned potatoes. I don't know why I bought them, but I did. Because I'm not really crazy about them. Has anyone used canned potatoes in any of their recipes? And if so, how was it? Please share any recipes that you might have.
Thanks

Good for stews, drain and put them in with carrots and onions.

about the only thing we use them for is camping as there easy to store we fry them in butter for breakfast ,they would work in a stew with veggies and onions,we prefer fresh as the canned ones have a differance taste.waiting to see what other people use them for.

I slice them and then put them on the griddle and cook them like hash browns when in a pinch, and dont have any fresh potatoes. they have to be cooked a little longer because of all the water in them. there OK for that too.

You could also slice them and put them in cold salads for a different taste.

Used them in stew as a shortcut. Not as good as fresh, but OK.

I once knew someone that purchased them for potato salad AND the salad was good.

That's funny. I did the same thing and was thinking how to best use them.

I also drain them real well and fry them in butter, maybe a bit of parsley or chives for flavor. They're not one of my favorites, but they're not awful. My grandma used to buy them all the time.

I use them when I make red flannel hash...as mentioned above they do take a bit longer to cook up since they are full of water.
