and than onto hgy 15, lots of mountain passes and steep climbs and decents to handle or not to bad of a drive?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in
a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming---WOW WHAT A
RIDE!!!
I prefer I-80. It is a bit out of the way it you are going through Denver, but the grades seem a lot less steep. Now the East bound grade coming out of Salt Lake City is a bit of a chanllenge, but other than that, I enjoyed I-80 both ways a lot more than I-70.

9 out of 10 times we go camping that's the route we take out of Salt Lake, it's not bad at all.

I'll bet I-70 is about 200+ miles longer than I-70 from Denver to LV.
I-70 up to Eisenhower Tunnel (11,000 ft) is a long steep grade and Vail pass is also 11,000 ft. I-70 is a lot more scenic, don't what's worse, Wyoming or Nevada.

From Vegas to Colorado Springs via I-15, I-70 & I-25 is 862 miles. Vegas to Colorado Springs via US-95 to Kingman, I-40 to I-25 north is 955 miles. Subtract 57 miles to Denver on I-70 and add 68 miles thru Kingman. Don't ask me how I know that. I have bought a lot of gas.
