Just curious if anyone ever installed rollers on the bottom of the skid plates.I have a jayco 23-b and it has the large V skid plates on the rear.I just hate to hear the scrape when we exit a parking lot.I,d like some more info on them
Just be aware that when Jayco was having some frame bending issues along with Aerolite using the Norco frame they made it clear that roller's can void the frame warranty.
Norco made it clear that the frame is not capable of supporting the weight of the trailer should the roller's make contact and "lift or roll" the trailer over the obstacle. The "V" bar's are meant to give/break before the frame does.

I bought my trailer used, and it already had the rollers on it. As far as I'm concerned, they only cut down clearance. I had to remove them to make it easier to get mine in and out of the driveway. Without them it cleared the sidewalk. With them on, they hit and rolled, but damaged the "seam" where the sidewalk transitioned from the flat walkway into the part that slopes to the street.

WOW I HADNT HEARD OF THAT .Glad I asked first.I was looking at the V set up.Its just held by 2 self tapping sheet metal screws directly into the bottom channel of the frame.I found camping world has metal wheels mounted on a metal channel.I figured I,d take those V bars off, trim the bottoms and weld the rollers in.This would keep everything the same legnth for clearance issues.Plus it shouldnt add stregnth. But since your comments,I started thinking ( I dont want any warantee issues my rig is pretty new ) BUT IN MY MIND...If the skid plate were caught on something wouldnt the screws snap off? They are the weakest link. What would be harder on the frame, dragging across concrete,or rolling across? In my mind dragging, because not only is there lift, but resistance too.I had an issue when I came home with my new rig.My driveway was a little too steep (corrected now). Those bars would slightly touch as I backed in.A small roller wouldnt hurt in that situation.I,ll agree those frames are not beefy and I can understand that they would be prone to bend if too much force were applied. But small rubs in and out of parking lots ect a roller shouldnt hurt.I dont know if I,ll go ahead with them now..Better think on it some more.

this is the first I ever heard that Jayco had a frame bending issue. Where did that come from?
