So I was at the Iowa State Fair today and one of the 09 models had a sticker in front of the sink and it said "Do not place covers on sink while in transit" or something like that. I've never seen that before and wondered what other people do or if you've been told by your dealer. After thinking about it we said it would probably be a good idea to store them in transit because of the 'what if'

I rest them "IN" the sink. I have left them over the sink and they bounced out and onto the floor. The manuf. is probably concerned that the cover falling will strike something soft like wood or dent the lino on the floor.
My prior Sunnybrook had a real high quality cover that was also a cutting board and I have no doubt it could dent/ding/break something when falling.

I think they are useless for any purpose. Why do I want to cover my sink. 5er was picked up new and the sink covers went under the bed where they are today 3.5 years later. Nice corian covers too.

I agree...ours are in the cabinet under the sink stuffed way in the back. They may make a nice cutting board, but I just bought a regular old cutting board that fits in my drawer.

Becky they don't make a nice cutting board as they dull the knife big time, too hard. Ours are under the bed for 3.5 years too. Maybe the next owner will figure something out to do with them.

Ours ride fine right where they belong. Never had an issue with them moving around. We usually take one off and use it as a drain board and leave the other sink covered for more counter space. They are Corian as well.

The only good use I've found for ours is to put between the wall and the range to keep grease from splattering up the wall. I've never found any good reason to cover up a perfectly good sink anyway. I've never heard of anyone leaving the sink covered when traveling though because it could easily become an "identified flying object" with a good bump.

This has nothing to do with the OP's topic, but...
Skip, everytime I look at your pic in your signature, I can't help but imagine a 1953 Mercury Monterey convertible pulling that trailer! It must be the angle you took the pic at, but it just strikes a funny bone.
