The covers for my old camper's sink would slide off the counter if left on top of the sink while traveling. I put them inside the sink when traveling instead.

My camper came with a plastic sink and we use to remove the sink cover and put a decorative basket and candle and stuff in the sink during travel. Well it must have been to much weight and the bottom of the plastic sink cracked. Replaced original plastic sink with a double bowl stainless steel sink from Home Depot. Don't travel with anything heavy in a plastic kitchen sink!

Found out the first trip with the new 5er that they will not stay in place so we put ours are in the cabinet under the sink stuffed way in the back. Also don't try to use for a pot holder they are not heat resistant. Worthless.

We have the plastic "cutting board" type for both sides of our double sink, leave them in place while traveling, and have never had one bounce out. I contribute most of that to the trail-air pin box, which takes a lot of the bounce out.

Never even thought about our sink covers moving. We've never had a problem with that. Our TT is smaller (21'), and we use the covers all the time to help increase the "counter space". Our covers are plastic, and work as cutting boards but we don't use them much for that as they will get, well, cut up! lol

Like EC said, maybe it's the trail-aire pin box that helps him. I'm surprised so many have problems. We have a center kitchen, Mor-Ride suspension, and a Trailer Saver hitch. Maybe that's what does the trick for us. Never had sink covers when we had a rear kitchen fiver - bet those would have bounced out!

We have one cover for the smaller side and it stays on all the time when traveling. I also put the stopper in the sink below the cover. I found that evaporization from the drain had a tendency to blacken/mold the underside of the cover if left over time.

If you have plenty of counter space to operate, I can see that a sink cover would be useless. We don't have that "problem", however.

Mine have never bounced out and I use them for extra counter space when the sinks are not in use. I'm glad they are there! To each, his own!

Becky they don't make a nice cutting board as they dull the knife big time, too hard. Ours are under the bed for 3.5 years too. Maybe the next owner will figure something out to do with them.
Ahhh...so it's a good thing I never used them as cutting boards...
