Well sort of. The AAM 11.5" is the same in both the GM, and Dodge trucks. However the Dodge version uses a speed sensor/tone ring built into it's axle units. The GMs use the transmission output shaft for the speed signal.
The AAM 10.5" axle in the GMs is the old GM 14-bolt, the 10.5" AAM axle in the Dodges are of a design similar to the AAM 11.5" axle. No parts will interchange between these axles.
The AAM 9.25" SFA in the Dodges will interchange differential parts with the 9.25" IFS axle in the GMs.
While we are looking into trivia.....
GM, and ford have both used the same ZF S6-650 6 speed manual transmission in their 3/4~1 ton pick-ups since 2001.....
Well that is until GM dropped manual transmissions altogether in 2007.

Nothing new.
Even BMW & Bentley used GM trannies for years.
Beyond this, most of the cars on the road today use parts from the same pool of suppliers.

Hmmm. That would be interesting.
A GMC Sierra Z71 with a Mercedes I-4 diesel engine, Allison tranny, 4.11 Dodge rear end, Cadillac front grill, Toyota towing capacity, Nissan Maxima headlights, BMW suspension, and Volvo interior.
Brings to mind the song by Johnny Cash about the
49, 50, 51, 52, ...... Cadillac.
But, honestly, the 4 cylinder Mercedes diesel engine in a full size 1/2 ton truck would be a good idea for fuel economy and durabilty, still having the horsepower and torque as the 5.3l V8.
If I don't meet your expectations
Maybe you should lower your standards.

I wish the truck segment would work like the class 8(semi truck)does. That way you could pick any powertrain configuration you desired. Only thing that would change between brands would be the cab /body configuration. I have a feeling that would make the Dodge Ram extinct though.
My configuration would be Ford F350(not dually)CC/SB 4x4 King Ranch, Cummins,& Allison. And maybe a company could build a practical air ride system to be factory installed as an offering also.
I know it will never happen but, it would be nice to see Deere and Cat throw their weight around in the diesel p/u market too.

The days of the over the road highway tractors with numerous possible engine/driveline combinations is coming to an end. Cat has said it will not be part of the on road diesel market. Greater integration of the whole vehicle is required to meet the new standards and Cat has seen the cost involved for an ever shrinking market share. No word on Cummins yet. If GM and Ford go ahead with joint venture development of engines lets just hope GM does the design phase. Ford's OHC modular engines are big(wide), complicated, costly and not all that good on gas or powerful. GM's GEN III/IV pushrod engines are much more powerful, compact, and seem to get better mileage with a less complicated and more durable design. Ford's chosen path has also eliminated the option of using a modular displacement or "active fuel management" system.

All thanks to the government.....Higher prices and less choices. I sure am happy that everyday we try our hardest to emulate a communistic society...
Sorry to get off-topic.....About the only thing I feel that Ford would bring to a partnership would be the seats in a King Ranch model p/u. Those things are soooooo comfy!
