I have a recipe that calls for a dutch oven that you put into an oven. I don't have a dutch oven, so what could I use instead of it? Most of my pots and pans have plastic handles, so that can't go into an oven. Help!

Crockpot maybe?

How about a big corningware pan? I have a big white square ceramic corningware dish that's about the same size as my dutch oven. Of course, I wouldn't use it on the campfire, but it's fine in the house oven.

I usually use the bed sheets when I give my wife a "Dutch oven". LMAO. I couldn't resist. Life is too short to be so serious.

Cast Iron Skillet, we cook corn bread in them in the oven all the time.

My feet are fine as long as they are traveling.

Go into Ebay and search the term Dutch Oven. You will see all the various pots they are calling a Dutch Oven these days.

I don't think you have to join to do that search.

I was thinking of a deep Corning Ware casserole or large Pyrex or oven proof casserole. I've heard of people covering pot handles with aluminum foil but I have never tried that.
